Icelandic Drag Competition Held in Reykjavík Tonight - Iceland Review
The 14th annual Icelandic Drag Competition is to be held this evening in Harpa concert and conference hall; the competition starts at 9 pm but the house opens at 8 pm.Twelve contestants will compete for the King and Queen Awards of the year.

『デッドマンズ・フィート』
あと一歩のところまで人間に接近したゾンビは全体重をかけて覆いかぶさってくるので、最後の一歩だけ動きが速くなったように感じられる。不慣れなものは、ここで見切りを誤って命を落とすことが多い。この最後の一歩を『デッドマンズ・フィート(死者の追い足)』と呼ぶ。
だが、護身の達人は逆にこの『デッドマンズ・フィート』を利用して、ゾンビを放り投げることができる。上記の写真では、ゾンビ護身術の師範代が体重60キロ前後と見られる成人女性のゾンビを、軽々と投げ飛ばしている様子が撮影されている。
「間違えてボーイフレンドも投げ飛ばしちゃたりして困ってるわ。いえ、だんだんクセになってきたみたいで、もっと投げてくれって言われちゃって」(談)

Toilers in the Westinghouse Lamp Division Research Department perform the firsts tests on “the largest mercury vapor lamp ever built” in this photo from our 1939-40 World’s Fair collection.
More than 60 years later, some similar research and development went on right in our own Science, Industry and Business Library, when Ground-Lab co-founder, Justin Downs, was developing another record-breaking lamp.
While we’re sure his work is just as brilliant, if not more, than that in the photo above… we can’t be sure that his goggles were quite as awesome.
